John – Keyboards ‘The Nerve’
I know this can be done on some keyboards, but its straightforward operation, flexibility and memory capability (32GB); make it much easier to trigger and access my pre-recorded sequences with BakTrak.

Steve – Lead Guitar ‘Bootlegger’
We needed to start the keyboards intro for a song and could never get it right using a standard mp3 player, nail it every time with BakTrak.
Go back

Paul – Guitar/Vocals ‘Paul & Martin’
I needed the facility to play bass, drums, or any other instruments as backing to songs we play. With BakTrak I can do this by laying down tracks we have recorded and playing them back with a press of the foot pedal. So it’s ‘Hands Free’, I can play guitar and sing at the same time. A great bit of kit.

Peter – Music Teacher
I needed to find an easy way for my pupils to practice scales, its simple with BakTrak. Load the pre-recorded scales, set to “Loop” mode, select the one you want and play.

Tony – Bass Player
Having just started playing, BakTrak is a real bonus, it allows me to play along with the songs that I’m learning. The foot trigger and the 10 to 30 second jump back in ‘BakTrak’ mode is great.

Rob – Drummer ‘The Chase’
Having my hands full, I need a foot controlled player and BakTrak does it.

Customer – Web Site – Nice option
Thank you for the prompt reply. Was hoping to buy pro pack with colour BSCR I believe. Its for my father. A man in his 70s who hates technology but wants to jam along to some backing tracks at a party in a few weeks. He was asking how to easily kick off his tracks and your pedal looked like a nice option for him. He tried a fancy looper and I thought he was going to punch me.

Customer – Web Site – Card already in the pedal
Hi, I received the BakTrak Pro today and could not find the micro card in the packaging? Then after a while I found it already in the pedal, so sorry about my voice mail, it might be worth mentioning that to other customers.

Customer – Northern Guitar Show – Played fine
Thanks very much for talking to me yesterday afternoon and giving me advice re the Micro SD card that had vanished into the case. I did as you told me and all is fine, card was retrieved and then recognised by the unit. Played fine through my Fender Acoustasonic amp. The only thing I noticed was when I plugged a vocal mike in to the in port, there was quite a bit of hiss, could this be due to a low quality cable? I bought a jack to XLR cable at Maplin for about £12 and think maybe I should have gone for a more expensive unit that I saw on the internet.
Anyway, thanks for your help, I am sure I will have a lot of fun with this unit and get better with it all the time.
Take care and stay safe,

Review – Guitar Blog – ScareBear.Rocks
If you’re a guitarist who likes to use non-guitar introductions (such as keyboard tracks) in your song writing/performing, then you may very well be interested in the BakTrak pedal. The BakTrak pedal is a three-in-one background music device that you can use while practicing at home, or while performing live on stage. From what I can determine, it’s a pretty sturdy little unit.

The pedal has these three functions.
Play
Loop
BakTrak

The Play feature allows you play/pause up to 48 backing tracks. The Loop feature allows you to loop tracks (that’s a wild guess I took) and the BakTrak feature allows you to take the backing track back in time (in ten second increments). That last feature makes it a pretty handy practice tool. Except it’s not handy … Because you use your feet allowing you to keep your hands where they belong—on your guitar.

The backing tracks can be either MP3s or WAVs (depending on the unit you purchase) and they’re stored on a micro SD card inside the pedal unit. One thing I like about the pedal range is the variety of design styles you have (with knob choices). There’s quite a lot of pedals to choose from it seems.

I’m yet to find a video of the pedals in use, but from what I’ve read and seen on the BakTrak pedal website, this unit looks like a useful tool and a good bit of fun. Perfect!

Customer – Web Site – Want to use the BakTrak for gigging
Thank you for making that all very clear for me. Yes, I would want to use the BakTrak for gigging so probably PRO is the way to go. The next question is, do you have the Baktrak Pro and the Pro footswitch in stock?

I purchased a Baktrak pedal from you in OCT last year. It’s still working normally and it has seamlessly fitted in with our performance so I’m well pleased.

Customer – Web Site – SDHC-HS1 cards
I do appreciate the customer service. It’s also good to know that the peculiarity in the SDHC-HS1 cards is in the card and not me.

Been meaning to get back to you. I figured out the problem … I was attempting to use my pedal power supply unit to power Baktrak … I plugged it into the dedicated adaptor and the buzzing went away. 🙂 Simple.

Review – Band – The Bar-Steward Sons of Val Doonican
We use three or four backing tracks to add a backbeat to a few of the songs in our set. We were having to use a huge, heavy and unreliable looper pedal which wasn’t built for this purpose. BakTrak takes the hassle out of the situation… it’s small, light and compact so doesn’t take up much room on my pedalboard, it’s really easy to use, and the sound quality is top-notch. It has even got me thinking of more exciting ways of incorporating samples into our sound.”

Customer – Web Site – Cool
Thanks for the info …. Yeah if we get any photos or footage of BakTrak live we’ll send it over. Our drummer found you while scouring the Internet, might have been through a drum forum, we like how “real” your pedals are with nice variations on colour of the knobs.
Little things like that make it cool.

Customer – Web Site – Delighted
Delighted to receive Baktrak. First gig yesterday was at the Fleadh in Sligo – large outdoor rig and crowd.
Fantastic improvement on everything I had used before for trax. Sound guy knocked it off my keyboard during setup, then I picked it up and dropped it, and it was fine. Button worked fine by hand once I got used to it. Don’t miss screen and operation is beautifully simple. Delighted to have jack connections. Great product and sits perfectly on a Yamaha P-80 stage piano – could have been made for it.

Customer – Web Site – I just wanted to say thank you
So I just wanted to say thank you for getting me that yellow replacement knob shipped to me in a quick manner and also thank you for not questioning the situation and just sending the part my way. I appreciate those types of business practices very much. I have installed the knob and the BakTrak unit is back to 10/10 condition.

Review – Keyboard Player – Pink Floyd Tribute Band
What is it: The BakTrak is a digital media player that is about the size of an average guitar effects pedal. It comes complete with a 9v psu, a micro SD card (preloaded with demo backing tracks) and a SD card adaptor. The manual is accessed online and contains a full listing and instructions for use (see BakTrak The Ultimate Foot Controlled MP3 Player on YouTube).
The model under review is the pro version which comes in a sturdy metal box.

What does it do: It can store complete songs, parts of songs (drums, bass, guitar etc) and sounds/ effects in 4 banks of 12 as wavs and/or mp3s (max 320 including Variable bit rate) this gives a maximum of 48 slots. First get the songs/sounds onto your computer as a wav or mp3 and then rename them with a numerical code prefix convention (as per the manual). This determines which bank and number for that particular sound. For example 00013 will be number one on bank two etc. Then remove the micro SD card. This is accessed through a slot on the side of the pedal and is easily removed with the use of a lolly stick (I use a magnum stick, it fits perfectly!). Then place the micro SD card in the adaptor and plug into your computers SD Card port (a USB adaptor is also available). Then simply drag and drop the songs/sounds onto the BakTrak’s micro SD card and back it up on the computer. Remove the micro SD card from the computer and put it into your BakTrak. Then you are ready to go and enjoy your BakTrak.

What do I use it for: I’m the keyboard player in a Pink Floyd tribute band and use BakTrak for all of the incidental sounds, voices and effects that feature heavily in Floyd’s music. Although I could load some of these onto to my keyboard I prefer to keep them separate, so the BakTrak can be heard at volume, irrespective of me fading out the main keyboard part and changing a patch. This is particularly useful at the end of a song and allows a smooth transition into the next one.

Ease of Use: The BakTrak is simple and straightforward to use. It has three knobs, one controls playback volume, another selects the bank and the third selects the sound (1-12). A single foot button does everything else. Press it once to play, hit it again to stop and hold down to reset. Although this is a “foot switch” I have the BakTrak mounted on my main keyboard so I can easily access the bank selector and press the button with my fingers. //9

Sound: This of course depends upon the quality of the source material you load onto the SD card but both wavs and mp3s sound great. // 10

Reliability & Durability: I’ve used the BakTrak at a series of rehearsals and gigs over the last 4 years and it held up fine and continues to perform reliably. // 10

Overall Impression: If you’re looking for something small and simple, for practice purposes or stage convenience, the BakTrak offers a unique solution.// 9

Customer – Web – Thank you for prompt & comprehensive reply
As a musician a lot of other [normal] intelligence has been sacrificed to that end; this is why many of us have to ask a lot of questions where technology arises!! However, I now know exactly what I want [everything inc footswitch, reader & mount] & thank you once again for sending me plain information.
